In Massachusetts, you do not need a lawyer to represent you in your divorce action. The mediator will provide you with step-by-step instructions in filing for a no-fault, uncontested divorce.
Are sessions confidential? Yes, all mediation sessions are fully confidential, according to Massachusetts State Law, Chapter 233, Section 23c, which provides for the mediator/client legal privilege.
What costs are involved? Your mediation costs will be based on a per hour charge. The total cost of your divorce will be substantially less than hiring separate lawyers.
How long does it take? On average, the mediation process takes three to five sessions, depending upon the complexity of each situation. Mediation is a voluntary process and may be ended at any time.
