Insurances (Life, Disability & Medical)
Many people are required to maintain medical, life and/or diability insurance as part of a divorce settlement for children and/or a spouse. Disagreements can arise when the following situations occur:
- A significant change in the premium cost for insurance
- A change in coverage
- The spouse who is not obligated to maintain medical insurance for the children has a less expensive policy available
- A spouse loses employment and medical/life/disability benefits
- A spouse wants to verify the amount of insurance coverage being maintained
- The death benefit of a life insurance policy exceeds the remaining support obligation
- A spouse wants to change the beneficiary of a life insurance policy
- An issue has arisen in maintaining medical insurance for a spouse under Massachusetts Statutes
